About program

The NGOs female leaders are often dealing with the same challenges and struggles as women in leadership positions in business do. But due to the need of different priorities and resources, less focus is paid to these struggles.

In order to deliver a solution that would meet the needs of the NGO female leaders just like it does for the business ones, Odyssey established a partnership with the Slovak Czech Women’s Fund and the Vodafone Foundation and, in October 2010, started the preparations of a pilot project of Odyssey for the NGO sector – NGO Odyssey.

NGO Odyssey aims to uncover the potential of NGO female leaders, by providing them with a support in their personal development and ensuring business knowledge supply in their strategic-managerial activities.

The program offers to NGO leaders a series of individual sessions with experienced business managers. During these meetings, they will have the opportunity to gain insight and inspiration for their personal and professional development and get new perspective of job related situations from the business world.

Goals of the NGO Odyssey

  • Support NGO female leaders’ personal and professional development by enabling the transfer of know-how from the business sector
  • Mutual learning of business methods and leaderships styles on one side and of social and human rights aspects of the women status on the other side
  • Interconnection of the two sectors – breaking the stereotypes of incompatibility of the sectors
  • Supporting networking opportunities

The application deadline is March 29, 2013.

The selection process is done by a committee of representatives of Odyssey team.
